2 drivers charged with DUI for wrong way crashes

Two people have been charged with driving under the influence in connection to separate Rhode Island crashes while driving the wrong way on the highway. The first wrong-way crash was reported Saturday at 7:20 p.m. in East Greenwich, when 28-year-old Corey Stott Miller of Pawtucket headed north in a southbound lane and crashed into a car.

Power outage causes 180,000 gallons of sewage to spill into the Pawtuxet River 1 hour ago

A power failure at a West Warwick wastewater treatment facility resulted in 180,000 gallons of partially-treated sewage to be released into the Pawtuxet River, forcing the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management to issue a non-contact advisory for the river. According to the Town of West Warwick, the power failure accrued around 12:30 in the morning Tuesday and lasted until 3:30 the same morning.
