Officials: 9 pets removed from fire at military housing unit in Portsmouth

Capt. Justin Arnold of the Portsmouth Fire Department, said that fire started at the bottom unit of a military housing building on Bender Court, just off Deep Creek Boulevard. Firefighters were called to the scene around 1:15 p.m. Four of the pets removed from the home were given life-saving measures, Arnold said.
