Second inmate charge in stabbing of ACI correctional officer

CRANSTON, R.I. Rhode Island State Police have charged a second person in connection with the assault of a guard at the ACI in May. Joshua H. Becker, 31, an inmate at the ACI, was arrested Wednesday after an investigation revealed he allegedly provided the weapon with which fellow inmate John Carillo stabbed a correctional officer in the facility's Maximum Security sector. Becker is currently serving 15 years of a 30-year sentence on charges of first-degree robbery, felony assault with a dangerous weapon and assault with intent to commit a felony following the armed robbery of a Smithfield gas station in 2010.
