Rogers is a city located in northwestern Arkansas. The city was named in honor of Captain Charles Warrington Rogers who was vice president and general manager of the St. Louis-San Francisco Railroad, also known as the Frisco Railroad. When the Frisco Railroad arrived in 1881 the town was established, naming itself after Captain Rogers. The city was the site of the first Wal-Mart, the world's largest retailer. Rogers fire crews were dispatched to the of a traffic accident Thursday on Pinnacle Hills Parkway at Northgate Road, according to the fire department. A Cadillac car, Chevy Tahoe and Subaru Outback were involved in the accident.

Inverse Performance Art Festival to return April 12-15

Inverse Performance Art Festival is set for April 12-15 at various locations around Fayetteville and neighboring Springdale, Rogers, and Bentonville. A Rogers woman and her boyfriend are accused of abusing her toddler after an investigation revealed the girl had severe, full-body bruising and a possible chemical burn to her eyes. Stacey Carmichael, 26, and Matthew Ryder Vansickle, 23, were arrested this week in connection with first-degree domestic battery - a Class Y felony when the victim is younger than 4 years old.

PD arrests suspects after carjacking, chase in Rogers

Police got a call at about 10:30 a.m. about an armed carjacking in the parking lot of the 10Box grocery store at 103 N. Dixieland Road, according to Officer Keith Foster with the Rogers Police Department. Officers chased the vehicle at a speed of about 10 mph through part of town.
