The 13 cities that agreed to jointly study the rising costs of their sheriff's department contracts have found the consultant that will perform the research after a unanimous vote by the Mission Viejo City Council, Tuesday, Nov. 28. Mountain View-based Matrix Consulting Group will be tasked with handling each city's questions and concerns and working with the Orange County Sheriff's Department and the County of Orange at a cost of $269,500, which comes in lower than the original estimated cost of $300,000.
