Laguna, South Coast Water District among parties suing Moulton Niguel

The city of Laguna Beach and South Coast Water District are among multiple agencies that sued the Moulton Niguel Water District , alleging the latter failed to pay more than $755,000 in bills for infrastructure projects of a wastewater treatment facility in Aliso Canyon. The complaint, filed May 30 in Orange County Superior Court, includes Emerald Bay Service District and the 10-member South Orange County Wastewater Authority as plaintiffs, claims Moulton Niguel violated contractual agreements as an authority member and as one of four agencies that shares ownership of the coastal treatment plant.

A 19-year-old man pleaded guilty Wednesday, June 7, and was sentenced to 180 days in jail for triggering a police chase that ended with a wrong-way crash on the San Diego Freeway in Mission Viejo. Sean Adam Stoddard of Mission Viejo entered his plea to first-degree burglary, leading police on a chase and car theft, all felonies.

Anaheim man found guilty of molesting 13-year-old girl who attended Trabuco Hills High

A 65-year-old Anaheim man was convicted Wednesday, June 7, of sexually assaulting a teenage girl who attended Trabuco Hills High School in Mission Viejo. Jose Luis Gonzalez was convicted of six counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor younger than 14 and four counts of lewd or lascivious with a minor, all felonies.
