Tornado confirmed after storms last week in Arkansas, surveyors say

An EF-0 tornado touched down in Northwest Arkansas as part of storms that pushed through the state last week, surveyors say. In a summary report, the National Weather Service's Tulsa office said the twister, with estimated winds up to 85 mph, touched down at 12:07 a.m. May 19 about 4.3 miles southwest of Bentonville.

A Bentonville man paid by Arkansas Medicaid to provide mental health counseling to young people with psychiatric problems pleaded guilty Wednesday to stealing money from the program over an 11-month span and promised to pay $425,000 in restitution. Joseph Brannon Randolph, 42, pleaded guilty to felony charges of theft by deception and failure to keep the required Medicaid-billing records in exchange for a $2,500 fine and five years on probation.

Bentonville motorcyclist killed in crash with tractor near Rogers

Arkansas State Police say 38-year-old Shawn Leverich of Bentonville died in the crash near Rogers on Tuesday. A police report says Leverich was westbound on Pleasant Ridge, southwest of Highway 12E, when the motorcycle he was driving went off the roadway in a curve and crashed into the front of the tractor that was mowing alongside the roadway.
